New Balance 574 Trainers
I am reasonably reluctant to wear anything but trainers, and up until about 6 years ago I used to pretty much change the brand of trainers I bought each time I required a new pair, until I bought my first pair of New Balance 574. The fit and comfort are fantastic and I love the classic style of the toe shape, and perhaps most of all, the type of the “N”. I actually bought this current pair from Footlocker in Germany as I could not find them in my size anywhere in the UK.

Hiut Denim Jeans
I attended a talk by David Hieatt a few years ago and heard the story of his denim brand, Hiut Denim. The company is based in Cardigan, Wales, a small town of 4000 people, 400 of which used to make jeans. They made jeans for three decades until the factory shut down. David Hieatt co-founded Hiut Denim with his wife, Clare to bring the manufacturing of jeans back to Cardigan and use all the skill and knowledge of jean making that existed in the town. After banging on about the story for quite a while, my wife bought me a pair for my birthday a couple of years ago and they are the best pair of jeans I have ever owned. I rarely go out of the house without them on.

Proof Sunglasses
Proof Eyewear was one of the first brand whose products we stocked when we started Such & Such. Proof started in a garage in Eagle, Idaho making handmade sunglasses from sustainable woods. The company was founded by three brothers and prides itself on handcrafting products that aren’t just environmentally friendly but unique and original. Proof Eyewear also gives a significant proportion of money from each sale to non-profits in India that provide sight-restoring surgeries to those who can’t afford it.

Warby Parker Glasses
I had heard of Warby Parker but was not familiar with the company until I walked into one of their shops whilst on holiday in California last summer. Warby Parker sell great quality good looking glasses at a fraction of the price of the more well known bigger brands. Plus, Warby Parker partners with non-profits in developing countries to ensure that for every pair of glasses sold, a pair is distributed to someone in need.

Ralph Lauren - Polo Aftershave
My Dad has been wearing this aftershave since before I was born, it reminds me of him every time I smell it. At about 17 I decided to adopt the scent and have been wearing it ever since.

Property Of... Wallet
This wallet was another present from my wife, after I had unsubtly dropped a number hints over a few months in the lead up to my birthday. Property Of... was founded in 2006 by two designers that focus on making timeless and functional pieces.

Rolex Oyster Perpetual Watch
This was a present from my Dad for my twenty first birthday. It is my most treasured possession.

MacBook Pro
Up until buying this Macbook about five years ago I used PCs but I can not envisage going back to a PC now. I find it so much easier to use and I have not once had to take it to be fixed or had any viruses. Some of my seriously techie friends tell me that PCs are without a doubt better machines and preach about open source platforms but I am definitely an Apple convert when it comes to laptops.

Sony Xperia Z3
Nice big screen, good camera and cheaper than an iPhone.

Wedding Band
My wife bought me this simple platinum wedding band by jewellery designer Isabelle Rowe. It has the date we were married inscribed on the inside of the ring so I don’t have much of an excuse if I ever for forget our anniversary.

Canon EOS 600D and Hard Graft Camera Strap
You can take pretty good pictures with phones nowadays but you can’t beat a proper camera. I really enjoy taking pictures and want to get a lot better at it. I bought this camera a couple of years ago and love how easy it is to use and the quality of the images. I am still learning and probably don’t use half of it’s functionality but I am getting better (hopefully).
The camera strap by Hard Graft was a Christmas present from my two sisters. It made from leather and Italian wool by a company called Hard Graft, which I found out about last year and is one of my favourite new brands. There stuff is quite expensive but it is really well made, you can really feel and see the quality of the craftsmanship and materials used in creating their products.
